Android app a boon for corpn school | Coimbatore News

Coimbatore: Students of Corporation Middle School at Masakalipalayam are now getting their homework on an Android app.
As homework and other assignments are stored on Google Drive, teachers can access them easily. Earlier, they could not maintain the huge volume of documents received through WhatsApp on their phones for a long time for want of space.
City corporation commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara launched the app at an event on Monday. Addressing the teachers, he said that the success of the application lies in usage. “Based on the outcome, the app will be used in other corporation schools also,” he said.
Rajmohan Govindaraj, CEO of My School Diary, which customized the software for the school, explained about the features of the app.
Headmistress K Mythili said that details of 500 students have been updated on the app. “The app has separate interfaces for teachers, parents and the headmaster. Earlier, we used to communicate to students through WhatsApp. With the introduction of the app, school administration has become hassle-free. Teachers can send circulars, send homework and receive them. Parents can access all information, including attendance, of their wards. Parents, teachers and the headmaster can keep track of students’ performance. The app is similar to the ones used by private schools,” she said.
