Most people don’t want to unfold their phones everytime when they use it, we check our screens so many times a day that any extra step feels big. Clamshell phones were never that popular because they had that extra step, it was cool to open your phone, but it wasn’t practical in long term, exact same for foldables. Foldables will stay niche product for a very long time and they might never be mainstream devices. There’s so much to improve with them and like Samsung shows, there’s hardly any improvements over the years for the biggest problems folding phones have.

You’re looking for the phone everywhere, then you call yourself to find it via sound and you hear your ringtone coming from the running laundry machine… XD
There will be NO iPhone 13 but “S” series of iPhone 12 models
Anonymous, 4 hours agoMost people don’t want huge brick in their pockets, that’s why foldables are appeali… moreDon’t want huge brick. Literally folds into a huge brick. Sure it’s not a wide and long slab, but it’s double the thickness.
Most people don’t want huge brick in their pockets, that’s why foldables are appealing.
When they get to the point that they are durable, actually reasonable to buy and have a more normal size with a usable external screen and can turn into a tablet whenever needed, they’ll be mainstream. We just have to wait a bit more
Macaulay Culkin, 7 hours agoI believe the iPhone 13 series will be great but iPhones and the Pixels now lacks the wow fact… moreMost phones lack the “wow” factor these days. It’s hard to do anything impressive when almost everything has already been done. Currently last and really only impressive thing left to do is the invisible selfie cam placed under the display. ZTE Axon 30 kinda did the “wow that’s pretty cool” even if selfie picture quality is still poo. It’s impressive how well it’s hidden now and since I don’t care about selfie cam, I do like it. But once that’s out of the way, what else there even is to “wow” us? It’s just cramming of same old but better stuff into phones.
Even folding phones don’t really wow me. So you fold a plastic display. I’ll be wowed when they manage to somehow fold an actual glass because that’ll change the folding display game entirely from this fragile folding plastic displays to folding displays that aren’t killed by fingernail…
Love folding phones but my iPhone 12 Pro Max went through a hot wash with my jeans and lived to tell the tale. Now that’s a phone!
They are future normals, just a matter of time when they got affordable and sleek ! No body would like to waste pocket space like a kangaroo’s bag, the way today’s big phones have become.
Anonymous, 12 hours agoReal world Stats don’t support your fantasy instead they verify the facts I made.
soy… moreYour link shows that also almost half of Galaxy users doesn’t know what model they are using. And let’s not forget those galaxy S phones are really small part of Samsung sales. Galaxy S phones aren’t masses phone, iPhone is, that’s the difference. Masses don’t care things like phone model name. My workfriend owns Samsung phone, i just asked what phone you are using, she said i have Samsung phone. Couldn’t say what model.
domraym, 7 hours agoBut folding phones are still hella expensive and impractical for most users from a durability … morePeople don’t want foldables, they don’t fix anything, just bring lot of new problems. Foldables will be very niche products for a long time and maybe always. They need to improve so much. Most people don’t want huge brick in their pocket and in other hand people don’t want to unfold their device basicly everytime they want to use it. Current smartphone form factor is great and practical that’s why it’s been unchanged.
Macaulay Culkin, 7 hours agoI believe the iPhone 13 series will be great but iPhones and the Pixels now lacks the wow fact… moreBut folding phones are still hella expensive and impractical for most users from a durability standpoint. People are gonna just say “cool” but not buy it.
I believe the iPhone 13 series will be great but iPhones and the Pixels now lacks the wow factor ever since the Fold3 and Flip3 were announced. If it doesn’t fold, it just doesn’t have the same je ne sais quoi. It’s just another phone. And phones is about new trends. It’s similar to fashion.
[deleted post]I have something better than that
It is a neural network, it is called Neuralhash, it consists of recognizing specific patterns of the photos with the neural network so that similar images can be recognized, even changed, it is an AI, therefore they have to review the photo, they explain it in the same article along with its operation and you can make a mistake with the girlfriend of someone who looks childish, but that, they worry about children, but in Saudi Arabia that marry girls at age 10 they do not report anyone
HaterzSuckkkkk, 10 hours agoFast charging hurts battery.
iPhone 12 pro max is 1100 dollars.
120hz is coming this yea… more“Fast charging damages the battery.”
Sure, until they implement it, but it doesn’t matter, you sure know that induction charging hurts it more
“iPhone 12 pro Max costs $ 1,100.”
Perfect, $ 1100 with those wonderful features
“120 Hz is coming this year.”
Lol, and the 3 years behind you? The 3 generations that cost $ 1000 with screens at 60Hz when most are at least 90Hz? where they are, even from $ 350 phones have E4 the second best Samsung panel, another excuse
“The iPhone 12 pro Max has a much bigger sensor than that.”
I researched and it’s true, I was wrong, Pro Max uses IMX 603 1 / 1.7 “, imx 590 1 / 3.4”, imx 372 1 / 3.6 “, but only Pro Max, the other models follow with 1 / 2.55”

Antutu works better on android phones than on iPhones… moreBut he didn’t compare android phone results to iPhone results.
He compared the android result with the Android result after multiple back to back tests and compared iPhone result with iPhone result after multiple back to back tests

Under-display camera implementation right now is absolute crap. In bright conditions, the lighting effect over the screen covering the camera right has this weird blurring effect that can be just as distracting(or sometimes more distracting) than a punch hole. Plus, the camera quality is very half-baked.
FaceID is simply superior to under-display fingerprints(except for the once-in-a-century COVID pandemic). You lift your phone up to face unlock, you life your phone up AND put your finger on the display for fingerprint unlock.
Periscope cameras are the only notable and functional “trend” set by androids in your list.
[deleted post]Hmm…. antutu is not cross platform!
Antutu works better on android phones than on iPhones, thus power decreases on android phones are also not comparable with power decreases on iPhones.
It’s not like the name of the phone is some holy grail.
Those people are just above that spec-for-price bull that you guys constantly say.
