Streaming giant Netflix Announced an update for Android An app that brings Play Something and Fast Laughs functionality to the Netflix Android app. The Play Something feature is a random shuffle feature that allows Netflix to play random movies and TV shows that users want to watch. The Play Something feature is currently being rolled out for Android users only. Netflix says it will test the feature iOS Devices for the coming months. Meanwhile, the Fast Laughs feature has been available to iOS users since March of this year.

The Netflix Play Something feature is available from a new button on the home screen. This happens after the user logs in to the app and selects a profile. The Play Something button appears in the lower right corner, above the menu bar at the bottom. The Play Something button hover over the content on the home screen. This is basically a shuffle play button that plays movies and TV shows. The Netflix algorithm plays content based on the user’s viewing behavior and interests. It also continues with programs and movies that the user started but may not have completed watching.

Fast Laughs feature TicktakuIt’s like the ability to display random little funny clips in a full-screen vertical format in your autoplay feed, like Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok. To access the fast laugh, users need to access the dedicated menu in the bottom bar, along with Home, Coming Soon, and Downloads. This feature was first introduced on iOS devices in March.
