The Best New Android Games This Week – Blon, Final Fantasy IV, Shootin Star and More
Here we are at the end of another week, which means it’s time to round up the best games that have landed on the Play Store over the past seven days. There have been a few, but paring them down to five proved pretty easy.
We’ve got JRPG reboots, we’ve got more than the normal amount of platformers, and we’ve got a game that mixes shooting and running a cafe, because of course it does.
You can click on the name of the games below to head straight to the Google Play Store and download them. Unless otherwise mentioned, the games are premium.
A smart, fast-paced platformer with some deep customization options and a variety of different challenges to keep you on your toes. You can play around with the difficulty settings as well. The demo version of the game is free, and you can unlock the rest with an IAP.
The latest Final Fantasy game to get the re-de-boot-makeover treatment. It’s where a lot of the ideas that made the series really started to come to life, and this is as close to playing the original as you’re likely to get without finding a SNES.
A mix of a bullet hell shooter, a relationship sim, an RPG and a base-builder. It’s weird, but all of it manages to blend together to make something unique and entertaining. The shooting, which makes up the bulk of the game, is rad. This one’s free with IAPs.
A tough-edged platformer with a unique style that’s going to challenge your fingers and your brain. There’s puzzle-solving, split-second leaping and plenty more going on. It’s free to play with ads.
A bouncing, blasting, brightly colored shooter-platformer. If you like Downwell or its ilk then you’re going to find something here that’ll put a smile on your arcade-hungry face. It’s challenging in all the right ways, and the perfect way to fill some time.
